General Rules
(1)Wear your [SAO] tag with pride.
(2)Abusing other members will not be tolerated.
(3)Do not cheat or use hacks in any way.
(4)Do not bring bad attention to [SAO].
(5)Leave the drama at the door. This can be many topics, but our members come to play, not to deal with others making an idoit of themselves.
If you break a rule an admin will mention it to you, the second time you will get a warning and the 3rd time will result in a ban. They're not exactly hard to follow. Yes we are a casual clan/community, but the above represents the foundation of order that we will abide by as members, as without these fundamental rules we aren't what we are.
If you have a problem
If you have a problem with another member, approach the member directly and express your concerns with an aim of resolving the problem. Or, if you would prefer not to, speak to a forum admin and they will try and resolve an issue for you.
Please do not air each other members' dirty laundry on the public forums if an issue can be resolved, as it is disrespectful. PM's/Steam Chat can often sort the occasional issue a member may have with each other, and can help things run smoothly.
If you would rather "suffer in silence" or not attempt to resolve the issue, then you are part of the problem and not the solution. Remember, admins are here to help.
Please refrain from being a White Knight or Keyboard Commando. White Knights being someone who goes over the top in sticking up for members of the opposite sex, Keyboard Commandos being someone who trys to threaten or intimidate another player, be it member or not.
Guidelines for using the forum
These can be found HERE, or clicking on the Forum Rules link at the top of each forum section page. Remember, the forums are not your personal diary, and you don't win any awards for being an asshole to others.
New Members Proceedure
If you feel that a player/friend will make a good addition to the clan or you know someone who is interested, then:
(1)Introduce them to an admin/gameserver admin.
(2)They then need to register on the forums.
(3)They will play a few games with a gameserver admin present
(5)The admin/gameserver admin will decide if the player is right for the clan, if the player can accept these rules.
NOTE: New members MUST have a microphone or be in the process of getting one. It has been mutally agreed throughout the clan that all new members must be mic users.
Non-Members with bad attitudes in games:
If SAO members encounter a non-SAO member with a bad attitude, or who is ruining the game for the rest of them (on an SAO Gameserver of course), the process is:
Get their SAO friend to warn/steam msg them, GS Admin Warn, Kick, Ban
and if no-one can work out who's friend it is, or if it is a pub/friend of a person who has since left:
(gameserver admin) Warn, Kick, Ban
Bear in mind too, that you have the ability to votekick, should you need it.
Leaving SAO
If you decide to leave SAO for whatever reason, fair enough, its a shame to see you go. If you join another clan, you will not be allowed to rejoin SAO. Persistant leaving/rejoining SAO will result in a PermaBan. We are meant to be a community of gaming friends who play together. Leaving / rejoining frequently is drama we can all do without. If you create drama, or "threaten" to leave the clan one day, then "rejoin" the next , you will be banned to make it easier for everyone else. Taking your tags off for attention (ie, for any other reason than pubstomping) falls under this category.
If wearing [SAO] infront of your name to say you are part of this community is such a big deal you need to take it off, then you really shouldn't be here. But what we offer for what we ask is a pretty amazing deal if you look around and enjoy it.
If we can all adhere to these rules/proceedures (they're more common sense than anything else!) then it makes a better forum and gaming experience for everyone.
Thanks!
