To celebrate we will be having a "mini" SAO Event on July 4th, where the Americans can fight against the rest of the world on both Battlefield and L4D for old times sake. We will be playing mainly on American servers to celebrate, and im sure we can squeeze a cheeseburger in or 2 as well. Be sure to pen it into your calander, and keep an eye out for info on the forums about sign up dates and so forth. Back to the UK now. As it seems we are having a "Hung Parliament" (which basically means no-one is in control of the country), why not duke it out in the meantime till we get a new PM with a few games of "Downing Street Fighter"
One final note, if you haven't voted for your favourite SAO:13 name AND preferred date, please do! Voting will close on Monday so not long left to get your tuppence worth in! PS. Thanks to [SAO] Rumplestiltskin for the graphics! Cheers

Historically, we're more or less all included too. There were Dutch and German soldiers fighting for the British in North America, and both Malta and Canada were part of the Empire. I think poor old Jess_DK is the only one left out. A mercenary for the highest bidder, perhaps? Looking forward to this anyway, suprised we havent done it before. Lets make the most of this zombie apocalypse and/or Russian invasion, and retake our 13 colonies for grand old British Empire. Rule Britannia! God save the Queen! Tally ho, lads! |

Ah now to be fair they werent Scots in Roman times, they were Picts. The Scots were an Irish race who colonised most of Scotland after the Romans had left. Oops, unintentional history rant. Hadrians Wall is awesome, though. |

May 12 2010 14:03:09 Ok while I think this idea is a good one, you must understand that most of us Americans will be away from our computers on July 4th........it's tradition in the US to spend the day outdoors (mostly because it will be 90 degrees in most places) and spend time with family and friends at a BBQ or the beach, or a picnic.....and then we drink until we can't stand and than we sit and watch fireworks......
I am not sure what my plans are yet for the 4th, and I will definitely try to save some time for this oh so epic battle (I would love to kick some British behind) but I can't promise! Sorry! Just a tidbit of information, the 4th of July is Nightcatcher's birthday....not that she is US, she's canadian........where do those folks fit in this battle? Hmmmmmmm? |

Sorry, down to my british ignorance i think tbh. Still, if theres a handful more than normal turn up (to replace the americans who are out partying!) then i suppose its a good thing to liven up an otherwise dull sunday evening! |
