Welcome, Blood Bowl fans, to the first of many reports on Season 1 of the SAO Blood Bowl League! Today's match follows my very own "Khorne's Krusaders" versus Rumplestiltskin's "Blackadders" - Chaos versus Dark Elves, in a match that will hopefully be looked on in weeks to come as the first of many victorys for the Blood God's home team.

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!

Lets begin, shall we? At approx 8:30pm, the two teams faced off for the start of what was likely to be an interesting match; the brutal, skull-smashing Chaos tactics squared off against the more faster, agile, more reactionary Dark Elf side. The teams are given a quick minute to stare each other out across the halfway line, before the ref tosses the coin and kickoff goes to The Blackadders.

The kick immediately goes awry - sailing way out off the far left touchline, which under Blood Bowl rules allows the Krusaders to hand the ball to any member of the team. The ball is passed to one of the four Chaos Warriors, Lektor Liverrip, and the game is underway. The Krusaders start with a strong left-weighted offensive formation and, already possessing the ball, proceed to push forward and form a strong cage around the rookie ballcarrier.

Due to a number of unlucky rolls coupled with the elves' natural frailty, the soon-tightened Chaos cage rolls straight up the pitch over the next two turns with very little resistant, and the first touchdown is eventually scored by Liverrip. The Krusaders naturally wait until the very last minute, using every available second before the touchdown to bash, kick and stamp on as many puny elvish faces as possible.

It was now The Blackadders' turn to recieve, and the kick fell more or less square down the middle of the pitch, to be picked up by a lineman and thrown to the resident ballcarrier, Blackadder himself. The Krusaders then proceed to bash forwards and onwards, smashing as many people as possible and covering those who could unfortunately not be smashed.

An unfortunate series of rolls for the Blackadders the next turn unfortunately leads to a turnover, with poor Blackadder still standing in the backfield like a lemon as two beastmen blitz hastily toward him. The carrier tries to dump the ball off, but with nobody there, simply tosses the ball as far away as possible, and the Krusaders are unable to reach it. This turn also sees the first death of the game, with a young beastman named Spraly Muzzle relentlessly slaying one of the Blackadder's linemen. Things are not looking good for the elven team.

However, the first action taken next turn requires Blackadder to dodge out of a tacklezone and pick up the ball. He passes the dodge roll, but fails the pick up with a roll of 1, and no rerolls. Krusaders proceed to bash a few more elves into the ground, and the ball is run home by a beastman, Point-gor.

The game then went from bad to worse for the newly formed Dark Elf team. The next kickoff produced the "Blitz" event, and the poor elves were driven into the ground by the fiesty Chaos team before they could even run for the ball. Their players were all over the pitch, with a young beastman rapidly chasing the still falling ball.

There was little they could do to stop the onslaught, and a third touchdown was scored by Lon'fagors.

Following the next kickoff however, their luck appeared to begin turning. One beastman, Spiey Pelt, was KO'ed by a revenge-seeking Blackadder, and another, Ri'nogors, was badly hurt by a blitzer named Lord Flashheart. Could this be the start of a comeback for the 3-0 down Blackadders?

Things proceed to get complicated. The Blackadders form a loose cage around their ballcarrier, Blackadder, with the Krusaders pushing forward and wrapping themselves around it.

However, due to another unfortunate turnover for the elves, the ball is seized from the runner and picked up by a Chaos Warrior. This brute is in turn floored to the ground by the courageous Lord Flashheart, but in the following turn the Dark Elf team is decimated. The ball is obtained by a beastman, Ma'nogor, and run to the very corner of the field, and the elves stand zero chance of catching him up.

Touchdown number 4. But the elves still have a few nasty tricks up their sleeves. Spraly Muzzle, the beastman who made the first kill of the game, is in turn brutally murdered by The Scarlet Pimpernel in a vicious act of revenge. And boy oh boy, The Blackadders then make their final sprint through the wide open gap in the Chaos line to the touchline, their single chance of redemption in sight. Go boys, go!

...yeah. It didnt quite go as planned. The ballcarrier and his teammate are crushed under a merciless torrent of hooves, horns and spiky metal bits, and the ball is retrieved and carried safely up into a waiting Chaos cage. The Blackadders try to strike back, but a blitzer, Lord Melchett, is killed in the process by the previous touchdown scorer Ma'nogor.

The ball rolls steadily up the field, seemingly under the protection of Khorne himself, and the fifth touchdown is scored in the final turn.

Game ends, 5-0 to Khorne's Krusaders.
